Declining usage sees Sunday closure of Stawell Sports and Aquatic Centre’s indoor pool
Low levels of patronage have seen the Northern Grampians Shire Council take the decision to close the indoor pool at the Stawell Sports and Aquatic Centre (SSAC) on Sundays.
Northern Grampians Shire Mayor Tony Driscoll said the closure would deliver decreased operational costs, telling local newspaper the Stawell Times “as a Council focused on securing the ongoing financial viability of the Northern Grampians Shire, we are committed to identifying opportunities to deliver savings and reduce our operating costs.”
The decreased operational hours came into effect on 22nd April and will continue until later in the year when the facility’s seasonal outdoor pool is reopened.
SSAC’s indoor pool opening hours are now from Monday to Friday from 6am to 11am and 2.30pm to 6pm.
