David Higgins to deliver keynote address at EVANZ Conference
The Entertainment Venues Association of New Zealand (EVANZ) has announced that leading events promoter David Higgins is to deliver the keynote address at its Annual Conference next week.
The Conference, being held in Dunedin form Monday 1st to Wednesday 3rd December, will also see the presentation of New Zealand's Venue Industry Awards, following the success of the inaugural Awards ceremony in Auckland last year.
Since co-founding Duco in 2002, David Higgins (pictured above) has played a leading role in establishing many of New Zealand’s landmark events, having been a driving force behind creating the award-winning Dick Smith NRL Auckland Nines, guiding the project from concept through to a 45,000-ticket sell out in its first year.
His conference keynote presentation will be conducted in an interview format.
New Zealand Venue Industry Awards
Introduced by EVANZ in 2013, the Awards aim to recognise and reward the success of venues and the contribution of individuals in the New Zealand venues industry.
The Awards are being presented in the following categories:
• Excellence in Customer Service
• ITicket Excellence in Innovation
• Ticketmaster Large Venue of the Year
• Prestige Loos Medium Venue of the Year
• Small Venue of the Year
• Ticketek Venue Executive of the Year
• Carlton Party Hire Operational Manager of the Year
• Priava Rising Star Award
• Industry Contribution Award
Along with the TicketDirect Supreme Venue of the Year and Supreme Venue Person of the Year Awards.
EVANZ Rising Star Award
Megan Brown (pictured below - at left)of the TSB Showplace, New Plymouth, winner of both the Rising Star Award and the OPTIMO Software Supreme Venue Person of the Year last year, is currently attending the Venue Management Association's Venue Management School on the Gold Coast.
Her attendance at the VMS was the prize for winning the Rising Star Award.
With the 2014 Rising Star Award now sponsored by Priava, this year's winner of the Award will have the opportunity to attend the School in 2015.
