Dare's new consultancy leads the way

Former Stratcorp Consulting Managing Director Chris Dare has returned to the leisure, sport and venue industry, establishing a new advisory business, Waypoint Pty Ltd.

In establishing this new consulting team, Dare aims to continue to specialise in elite and community sport, aquatic and leisure projects, delivering quality support to a wide range of clients in facility feasibility studies, concept and funding proposals, project development, facility management reviews and the identification of sustainable commercial solutions.

Dare told Australasian Leisure Management "the last few years have given me the time to undertake a number of international benchmarking and fact finding tours. I have also had time to reflect on what makes particular facilities special, be they at an elite, national or community level. Armed with this knowledge and the opportunities have seen during my research and travel, my passion to work with clients to help them build more successful sport, leisure and training facilities, has never been stronger."

A selection of Waypoint's most recent projects include:

• Geelong Football Club - Stage 3 Redevelopment;
• Warringah Council - Brookvale Oval Options Study;
• City of Manningham - Aquarena Contract Review;
• Collingwood Football Club - Westpac Centre Stage 2;
• Port Adelaide Football Club - Alberton Oval Community Facilities Master Plan;
• Geelong Football Club - RDAF Application preparation (leading to $10 million for lighting).

New appointments to the Waypoint team have included former YMCA, Volleyball Victoria, Belgravia Leisure and Swimming Victoria executive Mark Gladman and Shannon McGregor.
