Crowd Safety Seminar to share international best practice for safe events
With Australian authorities, event managers, promoters and venues increasingly aware of the importance of ensuring safe environments for crowds at sports venues, events, festivals and in public spaces, an upcoming two-day seminar will focus on the delivery of safe events.
The Crowd Science, Dynamics, Psychology and Management Seminar, being presented at Sydney’s Four Seasons Hotel on 2nd and 3rd September, will share leading edge information on the understanding of crowded spaces for emergency services, venue managers and event practitioners.
Designed for those who plan for and manage public safety at indoor and outdoor events with mass crowd gatherings, or others who represent organisations with a significant stakeholder input to the safety planning and management process of crowds at other locations where crowds frequent, the seminar aims to provide those with the responsibility of crowd safety at mass gatherings, with a clearer appreciation of the modern methodology to mitigate against the complexities of crowd management when mass crowds gather.
The seminar will be delivered in two parts. The first part focuses on the way in which crowds behave, the science behind their behaviour and how crowds can be managed during the process.
The second day will be focused on technology, communication, equipment and the softer skills.
The seminars features respected international presenters, including
• Superintendent Craig Sheridan EMPA ADipPM ADipRM - Commander, State Planning Unit, NSW Police
• Professor Chris Kemp BA (Hons) MA, PhD, MIOD, FIMSPA - MOM Consultancy (UK)
• Steve Allen FdA DipOSH DipRM MIIRSM - Reddawn Australia
