Construction advances on US$600 million Oman resort

The latest phase of construction work has begun at the US$600 million Saraya Bandar Jissah luxury tourism resort in Oman.

Building on renewed confidence in the Oman real estate market and tourism growth, Saraya Bandar Jissah is the first project of its kind to launch in the sultanate since 2007.

Introducing Oman’s newest integrated tourism complex, Saraya Bandar Jissah Chief Executive Sheikh Hamood bin Sultan Al Hosani explained “this stage of construction reflects Saraya Bandar Jissah’s commitment to the development of a world class tourist destination in the beautiful natural surroundings of Oman.

"Over the past years we have been engaged in the preparatory works on site to ensure the future smooth flow of construction and timely delivery of an operational resort destination for residents to enjoy from day one.”

Located near the Hajjar Mountains on the Gulf of Oman to the south-east of the Omani capital, Muscat, Saraya Bandar Jissah will include residences, two five-star beachfront hotels, as well as recreational and community facilities and a secluded beach.

The project is being developed by Oman’s tourism development and investment arm, Omran, in partnership with Saraya Oman, a subsidiary of Saraya Holdings.

The five-star hotels will be operated by Dubai-based Jumeirah Group.

Jumeirah Group President and Chief Executive Gerald Lawless adds “the unique location of these stunning hotels encapsulates the beauty and history of Oman and will offer an unparalleled vacation experience within the region.

The first phase will complete in 2017 delivering both Jumeirah hotels, the recreational facilities and residential neighbourhoods.

The project is being built on 2.2 million metres2 of land with an expansive beachfront and a high point of 250 metres.
