City of Fremantle looks to activate key outdoor locations with seasonal attractions

The City of Fremantle has opened an Expression of Interest for leisure and tourism-focused small businesses and entrepreneurs to activate some of Fremantle’s renowned outdoor locations.

The City will be awarding six-month summer trading permits for leisure and tourism-focused ventures that are aligned with the seasonal trading guiding principles.

There are seven locations at South Beach, Bathers Beach, Port and Leighton Beaches and near the WA Shipwrecks Museum that the City is looking to activate with new seasonal attractions.

City of Fremantle is looking for:

  • Sustainable businesses that are self‑sufficient with power, water, and waste.

  • Trading that focusses on leisure/recreation activity.

  • Suitable businesses that fill a gap in the market and enhance the visitor experience.

  • Businesses that align with the City of Fremantle’s brand values of spirit, soul and sea.

City of Fremantle is not looking for food and beverage businesses or businesses that will directly compete with established businesses in the local area.

The new ventures must meet certain criteria including being environmentally sustainable, complement Fremantle’s character, fill a gap in the market and not compete with established businesses.

More information can be found at fremantle.wa.gov.au/seasonal-trading.
