City of Fremantle celebrates WA Bike Month
The City of Fremantle is promoting a healthier lifestyle by encouraging Fremantle residents to participate in cycling during WA Bike Month, held from 1st to 31st October.
Bike Month is Western Australia’s annual celebration of bike riding for transport, fun and a healthier lifestyle, and aims to encourage people of all ages and abilities to ride more often for everyday trips.
The City of Fremantle is celebrating Bike Month with a number of free community events for the whole family to enjoy, including scavenger hunts, cycle school clinics for children and bike repair workshops.
As a bike-friendly city, Fremantle has dedicated on-road bike lanes, shared cycle paths, safe intersections for cyclists and bike parking bays throughout the city.
The City of Fremantle’s Bike Plan 2019–2024 was adopted in September last year and sets the City’s priorities for bike infrastructure projects, programs and promotional activities for the next five years. To read the Fremantle Bike Plan click here.
