Brunei waterpark popularity exceeds expectations

Brunei's first waterpark, located in the western disrict of Belait, has become a hit among the public during the holidays.
Opened in December, the water amusement park at the Lumut Liang Recreational Club (LLRC) has become an attraction to adults and children and an alternative to the water parks in neighbouring countries.
LLRC Manager Nisa Halim said that the new facility received a huge turnup of visitors throughout the school holidays and "exceeded expectations", with the highest number of visitors recorded at 1,300 in a day, stating "most of our customers told us that they are grateful for providing this waterpark."
Halim told The Brunei Times "many who came here found it a great convenience for them throughout the holidays, because they were either unable to travel overseas due to work or they could not afford the luxury of travelling to international waterparks."
Halim said that plans are underway to further improve the water park this year, particularly in addressing crowd control on visitors at the facility.
She added "we've been looking into the suggestions made by our customers, such as providing more garbage cans around the area."
Four years in the making, the waterpark opens six days a week from 10 am to 8pm, and is closed for maintenance Mondays.
