Be part of the Australia Council review survey

In response to hundreds of public submissions made on the National Cultural Policy discussion paper last year, the Australia Council is being subjected to an independent review.
Announced by Federal Arts Minister Simon Crean, the review was welcomed by Australia Council Chairman James Strong, who stated "the review of theAustralia Council for the Arts is appropriate at a time when a new nationalcultural policy is in advanced development. One of the most importantissues in the arts sector is ensuring efficient and effective structures for delivery of funding through transparent processes. "
The review into the Australia Council, being conducted by public affairs consultants Gabrielle Trainor and Angus James, resulted from discussions about the role of the agency featuring in many responses on the NCP.
As the Australia Council is such a significant channel in which the Australian Government delivers support to the arts and cultural sector, the Australia Council has stated "it was not surprising that many submissions discussed the role of the agency."
James and Trainor are currently seeking views about whether the original purpose of the Australia Council remains relevant today and what changes, if any, industry professionals would like to see made to the agency's role and delivery of support to the sector.
