BCEC celebrates 20 years of successful events with a fresh new look

Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (BCEC) is entering an exciting new era celebrating a remarkable milestone – 20 years of successful events, 20 years of experience and strong client service.

Against a track record of hosting high calibre international and local events including the 2014 G20 Leaders Summit, acknowledged as the ‘best ever’, BCEC has undergone a brand refresh.

With a strong and colourful new look and confident messaging with the credentials of hosting more than 17,000 events and 11 million visitors, BCEC is looking to the future.

Explaining that the new brand is designed to shape a future BCEC, General Manager Bob O’Keeffe comments “we see our 20th anniversary as a catalyst for change. We are taking this opportunity to look forward, to challenge the status quo.

“We intend to broaden our culture of innovation across all aspects of our operation, raising the bar even further working with our clients and partners taking our event delivery to the Next Level with a strong strategic plan for growth and enhancement.”

The new brand was developed over a period of many months working closely with leading agency Ogilvy Brisbane, exploring the competitive environment, locally and internationally, incorporating research and new marketing trends.

Ogilvy Brisbane Managing Director Russ Vine believes clients can achieve more with their event at BCEC. Vine states “whilst the venue is well established and runs like absolute clockwork, it is not without edge, excitement or daring.

“They do amazing things on a daily basis at BCEC for events of all shapes and sizes - the staff are trusted professionals, the track record is impeccable and the facilities are second to none. We honestly believe BCEC is in fact the best chance for an event planner to do something different – to have a truly amazing experience and take their event to the ‘Next Level’.”

Expanding on the ‘Next Level’ concept, Vine adds “Next Level is not always about being bigger or better – it means going beyond expectations and striving to make events a success. This might be ‘Next Level’ service, cuisine, lighting or staging, and it means next level innovation, harnessing technology or simply thinking outside of the box.”

As part of the new branding the Centre also launched a new mobile friendly website, making it easier for users to access information more directly and incorporating the new Next Level messaging.

Graeme Caplen, Director of Entegy who re-built the new BCEC website, said BCEC.com.au is fully mobile optimised and designed for visitors and clients who are on the go.

Caplen concluded “it is useful, informative and ultimately beautiful website that will evolve with the Centre as it delivers on its Next Level promise.”
