Bayside Council moves to provide innovative playgrounds
Listening to the community’s input and then creating innovative playgrounds has been a key focus for the recently formed Bayside Council.
Located in Pagewood, Gaiarine Gardens Playground was recently upgraded with works first seeing the removal of its former play equipment and replacement with several exciting new items of equipment, catering to a wider range of children.
The play equipment includes capital combination nest swings, arc tunnel (rope climbing structure), twin tower with net (climbing unit with slide and interactive items for toddlers), blazer (four-way spring rocker) and supernova (a spinner).
A shade sail was installed to provide shade to half of the playground area. Brick paving was installed at the western end of the playground to link it with the existing pergola and path. New furniture, as well as landscaping and tree planting improve the space for parents and carers watching children in the park.
A further upgrade has been undertaken at the Tierney Avenue Reserve Playground in Hillsdale which has several new and exciting pieces including capitol combination nest swing, speed gyro (spinning item), and play tower (climbing tower with slide) installed.
New, furniture, concrete paths and some feature paving was installed to improve accessibility.
