Bayside City Council closes Sandringham Family Leisure Centre pool to undertake repairs

Victoria’s Bayside City Council has advised that the pool at its Sandringham Family Leisure Centre located in Melbourne’s south, will be closed for 18 weeks from 7th April for essential repairs.

Council has identified some corrosion on the pool hall’s steel structure, which requires repair. While the pool is drained and closed, Council will also upgrade the pool deck flooring and improving the pool filtration systems.

Council is working closely with pool operator, BlueFit, and supporting them through this disruption. BlueFit is offering its customers an enrolment space at the nearby BlueFit Swimming Bayside while the pool is closed for repair, and putting active multi-visit passes on hold.

All other businesses and community facilities at the Sandringham Family Leisure Centre, including the carpark, Sandringham Sports Physio, Goodlife Health Club and basketball stadiums will remain open throughout these works.

The Sandringham Family Leisure Centre pool was built in 1978 and has been enjoyed by generations of community members. These works will protect the pool structure into the future.
