Basketball Australia and Seven Consulting extend partnership
Basketball Australia and Seven Consulting have extended their partnership for a further three years to support the Opals – Australia’s women’s team – and more broadly, women’s basketball.
After signing on last September ahead of the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup – which ultimately saw the Opals secure a bronze medal on home soil in front of record crowds – Seven Consulting, an active advocate of women’s sport, was eager to continue its support of the team.
In addition to Seven Consulting having naming rights and its logo appear on the front of the uniforms, the partnership will also unlock opportunities for players to gain training and experience at the organisation and work with Seven Consulting’s credentialed team, developing skills they can utilise post their professional sports career.
Basketball Australia Chief Executive Matt Scriven, said he was thrilled the partnership was being extended for a further three years and shared “following the success of the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup, we’re delighted Seven Consulting will continue its support of our national women’s team and look forward to strengthening our relationship with Declan and his team even further over the coming years.
“To secure a long-term investment for the Opals and more broadly, women’s basketball, with an organisation who is genuinely invested in making the partnership a success and aligns with our values, is really exciting for the future of the sport.”
Seven Consulting Founder, Declan Boylan enthused “we are delighted to be able to continue to support one of Australia’s most loved teams, the Seven Consulting Opals.
“This continues Seven Consulting’s commitment to support women’s sport which started with being a major sponsor of the CommBank Matildas since 2017.
“We look forward to seeing the Seven Consulting Opals play in the FIBA Women’s Asia Cup later this year in Australia.
“We see the Seven Consulting Opals as a continuation of Australian women excelling in world sport. They are an inspiration for children and the community and we are proud to continue to play a small part in their ongoing growth and success.”
Founded in 2002, Seven Consulting delivers more than $4 billion of programs each year for clients who include some of Australia’s most respected brands.
The Seven Consulting Opals will hold a training camp in Canberra in April, ahead of the FIBA Women’s Asia Cup which takes place later this year in Sydney.
