Ayden Shaw named Chief Executive at Disability Sports Australia
Disability Sports Australia has announced that Ayden Shaw, who has been leading the organisation as General Manager, has been elevated to the role of Chief Executive.
In a statement, Disability Sports Australia advised that the title change is a formal recognition of the leadership and vision Shaw has been providing.
Shaw joined Disability Sports Australia in July 2022 as the General Manager - Partnerships and Programs to oversee participation and stakeholder relations. He has been the General Manager of Disability Sports Australia since July 2023.
Announcing the appointment Disability Sports Australia Co-Chair, Kerri Griffiths stated “the title of CEO reflects Mr Shaw’s role and the contribution he has made to the organisation and the sports sector more broadly; we look forward to continuing to work closely with him and the broader team to meet our strategic objectives.”
Delighted to continue leading the organisation, Shaw added “I’m excited for the opportunity to continue to work with our outstanding Board, our wonderful team, and our partners as we build a more capable, accessible, and equitable disability sport sector.”
Disability Sports Australia added that Shaw’s promotion comes after a series of significant achievements under his and his team's leadership including the successful acquisition of new funding, the retention and expansion of strategic partnerships, and the continual enhancement of business operations.
