Australia's URBNSurf secures multiple wins at first-ever Surf Park Awards

Australian surf park operator URBNSurf has won in three categories at the inaugural Surf Park Awards.

Presented last month, the global awards, were created by Surf Park Central to gauge consumer sentiment on the increasing number of surf parks around the world.

Winners were based on a global consumer opinion poll which attracted more than 2,000 votes.

URBNSurf which operates Australia's frist ever surf park in Melbourne and has commenced work on a second site at Sydney Olympic Park was named most popular surf park for beginners and intermediates, most appealing surf park destination and was also recognised for having the most appealing amenities.

The full list of winners was announced ​​at the Surf Park Summit 2021, which took place in La Jolla, California, USA. They are:

  • Most popular surf park for beginners and intermediates: URBNSurf, Australia

  • Most popular surf park for high-performance surfing: WSL Surf Ranch, USA

  • Most appealing amenities: URBNSurf, Australia

  • Most appealing deep water standing wave technology: City Wave, Germany

  • Most appealing wave technology: Wavegarden, Spain

  • Most appealing surf park destination: URBNSurf, Australia

Surf Park Central advised "we're thrilled by the response of the inaugural Surf Park Awards and are already planning on how to make it bigger and better for next year."
