World Surf League to extend education partnership with Bond University
Bond University will continue as the official higher education partner of World Surf League (WSL) Australia through to the end of 2023.
As part of the partnership, Bond University students are given the opportunity to complete professional experience placements across multiple WSL location and be involved in WSL events in Australia.
Advising that the extended partnership will see the University continue to have brand presence across all WSL events in Australia, with further opportunities for unique content collaborations for global surfing audiences, WSL APAC General Manager, Andrew Stark stated “World Surf League is proud to be continuing what has already been such a successful partnership with Bond University.
“From our perspective, the WSL’s APAC team along with the greater global organisation have already benefited greatly from having Bond’s impressive and bright young students offer their fresh perspectives during internships in the region.
“We even have a former Bond intern as a valued full-time member of our commercial team which is a great show of the success of the program for both WSL and Bond.
“We’d like to thank Bond University and their students for the ongoing support and look forward to the continued success of the partnership."
Bond University vice president of future students, Cheryl Jolliffe added "we are thrilled to be teaming-up with WSL as their official higher education partner for another two years.
“Through the ongoing collaboration with WSL we are able to offer students exclusive opportunities to gain real-world skills and develop career pathways into one of the world’s fastest-growing sports.
“We see a clear example of this with our inaugural WSL partnership intern, Rachael Tilly, who studied Sports Management at Bond and is now partnerships coordinator at the WSL."
