Australian Rugby League Commission announces Perth Bears Chief Executive

The Australian Rugby League Commission (ARLC) has announced the appointment of media executive Anthony De Ceglie as Chief Executive of NRL expansion team the Perth Bears.

In a statement, the NRL advised that De Ceglie, who until recently was Director of News and Current Affairs at Seven West Media, "brings a wealth of executive leadership experience and a history of business innovation."

De Ceglie (pictured) was previously the Editor-In-Chief of the West Australian newspaper.

Explaining that the appointment is an n important step forward for the code in Western Australia, ARLC Chairman, Peter V'landys stated "to succeed in Perth, you need a well connected local who knows how to get things done and has a can do attitude.

"Anthony is a brilliant operator with a proven track record and a genuine Western Australian, and I am excited about what he can do for us as we grow rugby league in the WA market."

The Perth Bears will enter the NRL competition in 2027.
