Australian Dance Theatre returns to Perth

One of Australia’s renowned contemporary dance companies will be returning to Western Australia later this month.

Perth Theatre Trust acting General Manager, Rudi Gracias, said the Perth Theatre Trust was supporting Australian Dance Theatre’s production Be Your Self at the State Theatre Centre of Western Australia from 24th to 27th June 2015.

Welcoming the performances, Gracias stated “we are pleased to see the return to Western Australia of the Australian Dance Theatre which is internationally recognised for its unique style of contemporary dance.

“In fact, we are particularly delighted to welcome the South Australian company to the State Theatre Centre in 2015 as it celebrates its 50th anniversary.”

Gracias added that the Australian Dance Theatre (ADT) and Artistic Director Garry Stewart visited Perth in 2013 with their successful sold out season of G.

Be Your Self explores what it is to be ‘you’ in a powerful work featuring ADT’s athletic dancers performing to an electronic music score.

Gracias said local audiences would have the opportunity to see two WA-born dancers and Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts graduates in action — Scott Ewen and Jake McLarnon.
