Australasian Academy of Tennis Coaches and Voyager Tennis partner to deliver industry leading coaching courses in NSW

The Australasian Academy of Tennis Coaches (AATC) and Voyager Tennis have announced a partnership that will see the Sydney-based sport business deliver courses on behalf of AATC.

Announcing the partnership, AATC Chief Executive, Lynton Joseph advised “the Voyager team have worked tirelessly contributing to our curriculum to maintain the high standards the AATC have set in the coach education space.”

Voyager Tennis has designed and customised the AATC course curriculum to align with the Voyager methodology and rapidly develop the skill set of coaches within the industry.

Each course is delivered by former professional players Adam Feeney, Head of Coach Development for Voyager Tennis and Ryan Henry, Managing Director.

Both Feeney and Henry actively deliver live coaching sessions to participants each week and provide a current and progressive approach to coaching that has students developing their tennis skills at a rapid rate.

As Henry explained “we have experienced a large increase in tennis participation since the pandemic, with many other sports suffering due to lock-down restrictions in NSW.

“Combined with the border restrictions stopping highly skilled overseas coaches coming to work in Australia over the past two years, we wanted to create opportunities for coaches in Australia to build their skills and career in tennis.”

The courses range from Level 1 which is designed to help coaches learn the fundamentals of group and private coaching right the way through to the High Performance Level 3 Course for coaches who are working with elite level players.

Each of the courses are delivered over several weeks to maximise learning and implementation.

Both Feeney and Henry regularly support Voyager coaches attending the Tennis Australia Junior Development and Club Professional Courses and see the AATC courses as an alternative for those who are looking for a course shorter in duration as well as conducting customised in house training for Voyager coaches.
