Association of Professional Venue Management gets international launch
A new, primarily European-based, organisation for venue managers has been launched at London's Wembley Stadium.
The Association of Professional Venue Management (A-PVM) has been created in order to exchange knowledge, develop content, support on education and organise top class events for the venue industry including conference and exhibition centres and multifunctional arenas.
The formal structure of the association has been established by Paul Anderson (formerly of the Event & Stadium Suppliers Group), Simon Smith (Wembley Stadium) and Dimitri Huygen (MannaC) backed by a Board of Directors consisting of Lotta Nibell (GOT Event AB), Stephan Lemke (Stadhalle Braunschweig), Özgür Erdogan (Passolig), Kirill Makarischev (VTB Arena Moscow), Frank Elorriaga (Bilbao Exhibition Centre), Tomas Gronager (Clean Event Group), Vince Connolly (CBRE) and Robert Else (TERRAPLAS).
Named as A-PVM President, Simon Smith explains “we are convinced A-PVM will play an important role in the education of all levels of professionals within our industry and that the Association will work extremely hard to organize top class events that are relevant to all members of the Association.
“In addition, on a personal level, I am both proud and honored that the Board has chosen me as first president of A-PVM.”
Paul Anderson, former President & owner of the ESSG Group, adds “we have integrated the ESSG partners into A-PVM as we are convinced this is the right direction to share the innovative and reliable solutions of industry partners in order to contribute to the development and growth of the Association.
“Personally I will be working full-time for the Association to manage all international relations and foster cooperation amongst all members.”
In the upcoming weeks the A-PVM website will be fully up-and-running having and will include news, membership biographies and partnership profiles while the first A-PVM event will be organized in Gothenburg, Sweden by Board Member Lotta Nibell.
