ASM Global makes Chief Sustainability Officer appointment
Venue management giant ASM Global has hired Lindsay Arell in the role of chief sustainability officer, with responsibility for spearheading its sustainability initiatives at its more than 400 venues worldwide.
As the principal at sustainability consultancy Honeycomb Strategies (with whom ASM Global has worked since 2022), Arell led the development of ASM Global ACTS sustainability plan - the company’s framework for reducing the environmental impact of operations at its venues.
She also led the ISO 20121 certifications for key ASM Global venues in the USA including Lincoln Financial Field and SoFi Stadiums - the first venues of their kind to be certified. Other relevant achievements include launching the Sustainable Sport Index - a global benchmarking project on the impacts of sports teams, leagues and venues.
Announcing the appointment, ASM Global Chief Executive and President, Ron Bension stated “Lindsay, who is known throughout our industry as a thought leader, is the perfect person to assume this role.”
Arell (pictured) added “I’m thrilled at the chance to spearhead ASM’s sustainability initiatives working alongside our teams and communities across our over 400 global venues.
“By providing our venue teams with the necessary knowledge and resources, we can accelerate the progress of our program significantly.”
The appointment follows ASM Global having formed a partnership with r.World to roll out reusable service ware across its North American venues by 2025.
