ARV Regional Conference set to focus on sustainability
With a focus on focus on sustainability, Aquatics and Recreation Victoria (ARV) will be staging its annual Regional Conference next week.
Being held at Peppers Marysville on Tuesday 9th and Wednesday 10th May, the two-day conference will cover topics and issues impacting the Victorian aquatic and recreation industry and will also include a trade exhibitor space, networking dinner and site tours.
Within the theme ‘Building a Sustainable Future’, the conference will include an opening presentation on reducing energy costs before addressing issues conflict management; increasing demand and engagement for outdoor pools; strategies for drowning prevention; marketing to maximise thriving populations; recruitment, challenges and staff retention and an emerging leaders panel.
Among industry leaders speaking at the conference, consultant Sally Jeavons of @Leisure Planners will address Future Design for Feasible Aquatic and Health Hubs - Making Ageing Assets Relevant; independent gym owner and AUSactive ambassador Mel Tempest will speak on Regional v Metro - How Does Your Gym Cater for Community Needs, Trends and Expectations? and Steve Wilson of Greater Shepparton City Council, Carly Ward of Mitchell Shire Council and, Tim Free of the Swan Hill Leisure Centre presenting on 2022 Flood Impacts - Our Response and Recovery Learnings.
The Conference also includes a Keynote Presentation from Carlton FC Coach Michael Voss.
Each year, the ARV regional conference brings together a diverse and knowledgeable group of industry leaders and decision makers from local government, aquatic, recreation and leisure facilities, product suppliers, service providers, consultancies, institutes of learning, and state government departments.
