Arena Manawatu appoints new caterers
Following a competitive tender process, Compass Group has been awarded the contract to manage all food service operations at Arena Manawatu.
Under the contract, which commenced on 1st January, Compass Group will provide a range of catering facilities - from corporate hospitality and food kiosks on event days to catering for conferences and special occasions on non-event days.
Arena Manawatu Marketing Manager Abbie Davie stated "most visitors to Arena Manawatu are here to watch an event â be that rugby or speedway in the FMG Stadium or netball, basketball or a concert in one of our indoor arenas. But no matter how good the event we always remember the food. With catering being an essential element of the event experience, we are delighted to have partnered with such an experienced and highly regarded company as Compass Group."
With crowds at the annual Superstock Teams Champs on Waitangi weekend expected to reach 15,000 each day, the team at Compass Group will have a big crowd to please. Speedway patrons will already have noticed the increased options available in the stadium kiosks.
Craig Elder, Regional Manager for Compass Group added, "Compass Group is delighted to have been appointed and look forward to working in partnership with Arena Manawatu to raise the bar and the profile of this fantastic venue."
Compass Group is the world's leading food service company. In New Zealand, Compass Group currently has contracts in Taranaki with Yarrow Stadium, TSB Showplace, TSB Stadium and TSB Bowl of Brooklands, and in Rotorua with the Energy Events Centre and Rotorua International Stadium.
Compass Group has also secured the catering contract at the Palmerston North Convention Centre for a further term.
