Appetising way to improve fitness club management

A new initiative, the FitnessBiz Brunch, is being launched to make business education affordable and accessible for fitness club owners and managers.

Presented by the Industry Leaders Roundtable and Active Management, who have for the past six years been running FitnessBiz, the two-hour events will be held in Australia's major cities, including Hobart and Canberra, throughout the year.

The current round of FitnessBiz Brunches start in Adelaide this week (on Thursday 16th May), before heading to Melbourne on Thursday 23rd May and Sydney on Friday 24th May.

FitnessBiz Brunch is being launched to make regular business education affordable and accessible. It is presented by Industry Leaders Roundtable and Active Management, who have for the past six years been running FitnessBiz.

Justin Tamsett, owner of Active Management and facilitator of the Industry Leaders Roundtable, explains "in the 1990s, a group of fitness business owners in Sydney would come together every month, have a chin wag and hear from a guest speaker. Sixty to 120 people used to attend. The event was run by the NSW Fitness Centres Association and later FitnessNSW.

"We noticed at the FitnessBiz events over previous years that people loved chatting. So we have selected venues that make networking easy. We know people are time poor, so they only run for two hours, and we know there are hundreds of training opportunities, so it's affordable at just $32 (per attendee).

"We surveyed all previous attendees of FitnessBiz events, and a common criticism was that events were too sponsored. So FitnessBiz Brunch is sponsor free! There will be no spiels from sponsors, just chatting and education."

Tamsett is a very active participant in social media and is seen as the Australian fitness industry's go-to man for information, tactics and techniques.

He explains "we are super excited with this new concept to help any fitness business owner improve their business.

"We appreciate there are many fitness conferences now available to owners. This brunch has been specifically designed for people to walk away, after two hours, with practical ideas they can implement."

FitnessBiz Brunch is owned by Active Management, a business dedicated to providing innovative resources and opportunities tofitness industry business owners, helping them grow their businesses.
