Anderson Events and Sydney Sports Management Group partner to maximise venue participation through multisport programming

Facilities management company Sydney Sports Management Group (SSMG) and Anderson Events, which has managed corporate and community events and health and wellness programs since 2003, have announced a partnership to maximise venue participation through multisport programming.

Looking forward to repurposing and maximising existing community recreation facilities and planning on managing Councils’ synthetic pitches, Sydney-based SSMG has purchased 50% of Anderson Events.

Both organisations complement each other and share the common goal of creating environments at each venue that maximise participation and fully engage local communities in the benefits of sport and recreation.

Explaining the coming together, SSMG Chief Executive, Richard Price advised “recreation delivery is becoming more diverse and complex and while SSMG has a broad range of operational expertise, we believe to deliver maximum optimisation, best practice programming, and ensure a quality customer experience … a collaborative and partnerships delivery model is the future of the industry.

“SSMG has a personalised management philosophy which allows us to adapt our programs and services to the needs of our partners and their communities. We are committed to the wellbeing of the community we serve irrespective of age, gender, or ethnicity.

“SSMG’s vision is to maximise community recreation assets and create community hubs (and) I am delighted to combine our collective experience as both organisations have similar culture and values, so we see this as natural capability alignment.”

Matt Anderson, Anderson Events’ Managing Director commented “that the opportunity to create a multi-sports hub at Cintra Park is quite unique and will be a first for outdoor tennis centres in Australia.

“We will be combining a multitude of social sports competitions such as tennis, padel, futsal, netball, beach volleyball and basketball all at the one venue. We see our sports facilities revolutionising the way communities view sports and how the user in the future will not be limited to choose just one sport, but now will have an opportunity to try a myriad of sports.”

SSMG is a privately-owned facilities management company with over 30 years of experience owning and successfully managing a variety of recreation and sport venues.

Anderson Events is one of Australia’s largest corporate wellness and events program providers and committed to the improvement and betterment of the wellbeing and culture of individuals and corporations throughout Australia.
