AlphaFit named as Queensland State Finalist in 2022 Telstra Best of Business Awards

Australian commercial gym equipment manufacturer, AlphaFit have been named as a Queensland State Finalist for the 2022 Telstra Best of Business Awards in the categories of Championing Health and Embracing Innovation.

Since entering the market in 2012, AlphaFit has been committed to developing fitness equipment without compromise - showing the global fitness community that Australian made gym gear can truly produce incomparable benefits in terms of functionality, safety design, custom branding, modularity, and durability.

For over 25 years the Telstra Business Awards have placed a spotlight on Australia's best small and medium-sized businesses. Its annual awards celebrate outstanding companies who are using innovation and expertise in helping move Australia forward. A total of 24,310 entries were submitted with AlphaFit being awarded in the top 1% to progress as state finalists.

The ‘Embracing Innovation’ award recognises businesses innovating with technology to develop solutions for challenges faced by modern Australia. AlphaFit is one of seven nominated Queensland finalists in this category, selected for their expertise in employing cutting-edge technology to design and manufacture innovative Australian made gym equipment that provides effective solutions and added value to their customers.

Jamie Montesalvo, co-founder of AlphaFit advised “we are humbled and honoured to be named amongst some of our most exceptional business leaders this year that are advancing innovation and achieving success in their respective industries.

“The culture of innovation within AlphaFit is something we pride ourselves on and will always advocate within our industry.

“For the past nine years, AlphaFit has embraced product innovation to challenge the norms of fitness equipment and create custom-made solutions for our customers. Innovation has empowered AlphaFit to continue manufacturing on Australian shores and to create jobs and skills in our local community.”

The award for ‘Championing Health’ acknowledges organisations that are solving for and improving health outcomes for Australians. AlphaFit was shortlisted as one of six Queensland companies for playing a role in creating new products to improve the health of their customers.

Montesalvo highlights “for years, elite sporting teams and leading sports universities have encountered problems with gym equipment and pursued AlphaFit to develop custom-made fitness equipment that caters to the training needs of their athletes and their high-performance facility.

“We’re designing products that enable sports teams, researchers and institutions to study human biomechanics and promote a better understanding of how athletes’ bodies perform.

“Recently, our team have pioneered the development of commercial fitness equipment such as the Core Belt Squat, Core Smith Machines, Rig Attached Hip Thruster to name a few, that serve multi-functional benefits and help our customers to achieve better outcomes.”

The 2022 State Winners of the Telstra Best of Business Awards will be announced in February 2022, with the final awards to be presented at a national awards ceremony planned for April. The Telstra Best of Business Awards is billed as a strategic springboard to help business owners take their business to the next level and identify those who are making an impact in the areas and industries most important to Australia’s growth.
