AlphaFit to host Gold Coast launch of Australian Made Week
Gold Coast-based fitness equipment manufacturing business AlphaFit is set to host the launch of the first-ever Australian Made Week.
An initiative of the Australian Made Campaign Limited (AMCL), Australian Made Week (which runs from 24th to 30th May), aims to encourage businesses and consumer to actively focus their buying activities on genuine Australian products while celebrating and supporting local makers and growers around the country.
The Gold Coast launch of the event at the family-owned company as of tomorrow morning will showcase the businesses Australian-made fitness equipment whose steel gym equipment was last year certified as Australian Made by ACML and now carries the Australian Made, Australian Grown logo on its products.
The launch will see reality television star and Australian Made Week ambassador Elyse Knowles encourage Australians to seek out and buy genuine Australian products bearing the green-and-gold kangaroo logo to bolster local industries.
It will be attended by Australian Made Chief Executive Ben Lazzaro and AlphaFit co-founder and Chief Executive Jamie Montesalvo.
According to recent Roy Morgan research, if every household spent an additional $10 a week on Australian Made products, it would inject an extra $5 billion into the economy each year and create up to 11,000 new jobs.
Australian Made Week will see a TV, radio, print and online advertising campaign features Knowles in which she calls on people to get involved in Australian Made Week by celebrating and supporting local makers and growers.
The green-and-gold Australian Made, Australian Grown (AMAG) logo is the only registered country-of-origin certification trademark for the full range of genuine Australian products and produce.
Administered by not-for-profit public company AMCL it has been helping Australian consumers, farmers, processors and manufacturers for more than 30 years.
AMCL was established in 1999 by the Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ACCI) and the network of state and territory chambers of commerce, with the cooperation of the Federal Government.
