Allia ends nib Stadium management deal

VenuesWest Chairman Graham Partridge has confirmed that Allia Venue Management has terminated their contract as venue manager of nib Stadium - home ground of the Western Force and Perth Glory.

Partridge advised yesterday (Wednesday 2nd April) that, Allia, owned by former Glory Chairman Nick Tana, had exercised their option to terminate their contract, stating "under the terms of the option, Allia will continue to operate the venue for a period of at least six months.

“After that, the intent is for VenuesWest to operate the stadium in the transitional period while the long-term management solution is determined.

“VenuesWest has a strong management team across multiple venues and we are in a position where we can provide skilled people to effectively manage this stadium.

“It’s our priority to ensure Western Australia’s premier rectangular sports and entertainment venue delivers great customer experiences and we will work with Allia and their staff to ensure that happens.”

On behalf of the Western Australia Government, VenuesWest has governed the facility since 2012, the year in which the venue's new Southern Stand was opened.

At that time, Tana was in dispute with current Glory owner Tony Sage over costs for hiring the venue.

The 2012 upgrade, resulting from $95 million in funding from the Western Australian Government, raised the seating capacity of the venue to 20,500.

In addition to the nib Stadium, VenuesWest is responsible for the new Perth Arena, Challenge Stadium, Arena Joondalup, WA Athletics Stadium, WA Basketball Centre, Midvale Speeddome, Perth Motorplex, Champion Lakes Regatta Centre and the WA Rugby Centre.

It will also be responsible for the new Perth Stadium when it is completed in 2018 and the State Netball Centre and the Western Australian Institute of Sports High Performance Service Centre, which are also currently under construction.
