ALFA to present facility management network breakfast at 2014 Australian Fitness & Health Expo

The Australian Leisure Facilities Association (ALFA) is to present its third annual ALFA Facility Manager's Networking Breakfast at the upcoming 2014 Australian Fitness & Health Expo.

Being held from 8am to 10am on the first morning of the Expo (Friday 4th April 2014), the event will consist of an interactive panel session on current trends within the fitness and health industry and what aquatic and recreation facility managers need to do to be at the forefront of this highly competitive industry.

The panel includes a cross section of aquatic and recreation facility managers, club operators, billing company representatives and industry suppliers presenting various case studies on how facilities have kept up with the needs of their community, by adapting and transforming their operations to improve member experiences and achieve a healthier bottom line.

Guest panellists include:

Celeste Kirby-Brown, Director of Sales, Marketing and Relationships at Ezypay, will provide insights into the latest fitness industry market trends as captured through their annual Fitness Industry Survey.

Shane Byrne, Co-founder of Fit n Fast Gyms and Owner of Fitness Business Experts, will provide insights into the private health club sector, demonstrating how FitnFast Gyms successfully delivered a new concept and model to the Australian Fitness Industry.

Kara Monaghan, Centre Manager at Leisurelink Geelong, will present a case study on how community leisure facilities such as Leisurelink are staying ahead of the curve in this highly competitive industry.

Simon Hall, Marketing Manager at Blue Fitness, will provide insights into how innovative equipment and programming can provide your facility with a competitive edge.

The event is sponsored by ALFA National Commercial Supplier members, Links Modular Solutions and The Retention People, with representatives of each company making presentations.

Michaela Mania, Business Operations Manager from Links Modular Solutions will be demonstrating how facilities can use online solutions to provide a point of difference to your facility.

As Mania explains "mobile technologies are changing the communication strategies of many businesses and now the fitness industry has the opportunity to do the same."
Spresa Vella, National Retention and Coaching Director from The Retention People, will provide an education session: 'How to improve customer experience and drive membership retention', with suggestions as to how 'full service' clubs can compete with the budget gym model.
This session will include a case study of how the Aquazone aquatic and recreation facility in Warrnamboul doubled their membership retention despite increased competition.

The event costs $65 for members and $75 for non-members (plus booking fee).

Members of Aquatics and Recreation Victoria (ARV), Aquatic and Recreation Institute (ARI), ALFA Queensland (ALFAQ) and Recreation South Australia (RecSA) are automatically members of ALFA.
