Air Factory trampoline arena launches new fitness program

The Air Factory trampoline arena, at Burleigh on the Gold Coast, has launched a new trampoline-based exercise program that aims to combine trampoline fun with fitness.

Since opening in December last year, the Air Factory, which claims to be Australia’s largest trampoline arena, has proved popular with locals and visitors.

However, responding to demand from recreational jumpers who wanted to turn fun into fitness.

Introducing the trampoline-based workout to the Gold Coast Bulletin, Air Factory General Manager Chris Emert explained “we’ve had strong interest from young professionals who want a change of scenery from their regular gym and are keen to get involved in our fitness classes, which will include a series of exercises with the added challenge of a bouncy trampoline.

“Studies have shown that trampolining burns more calories than running, and it’s not as hard on your joints, so it’s a great choice of activity for those looking for a new challenge.”

The trampoline arena also serves as a training environment for local gymnasts.

Emert adds “we have a lot of gymnasts and other professional athletes who use Air Factory as a training facility and kids are often keen to mimic the more technical skills on display.”

Developed by Bold Entertainment, the 4,700 metre² venue is the first Air Factory venue.

Bold Entertainment invested $2 million in the centrally-located former industrial unit which employs a staff team of 50.
