AFL's Western Bulldogs agree Australia-first back of jersey sponsorship deal with cryptocurrency firm
AFL club the Western Bulldogs have agreed a partnership with Australia’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, CoinSpot - the first sponsorship agreement between a major Australian sports team and the cryptocurrency industry.
Under the agreement CoinSpot’s logo will feature prominently on the back of the Bulldogs’ AFL jersey and on the club's media backdrop for the remainder of the 2021 season.
The deal includes an option to extend the partnership.
Established in 2013, CoinSpot has over one million Australian users, making it the largest platform to buy Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies in Australia.
Announcing the sponsorship, Bulldogs Chief Executive, Ameet Bains stated “it’s an exciting time for the football club both on and off the field, and our new partnership with CoinSpot helps put us in an even stronger position heading into the future.
“I’d like to particularly commend our commercial partnerships team, led by Nick Truelson, for its relentless efforts in working to secure a partnership of this magnitude for the club.”
CoinSpot Chief Executive, Russell Wilson added “we share the same values as the Bulldogs, and we can’t think of a better club to align with.
“Seeing the CoinSpot brand on the back of the jumpers is an awesome feeling for us and the cryptocurrency space as a whole.”
