Western Bulldogs to play three home games a year in Ballarat
The Western Bulldogs have announced a five year partnership with the Victorian Government in which the club will play AFL games and deliver community programs to Ballarat and Western Victoria.
The Bulldogs will continue to work with the AFL to play two to three matches every year in Ballarat with at least two of those matches to be played as part of the AFL season.
As part of the partnership, the Bulldogs will wear Ballarat-branded shorts, starting with second Elimination Final against the Adelaide Crows at the MCG tonight (12th September). The Ballarat brand will also be promoted across Bulldogs digital platforms and branded assets.
Commenting on the link, Western Bulldogs President Peter Gordon stated “this unique and exciting partnership will form the foundation for the Western Bulldogs to deliver on our commitment to build an enduring relationship with the Ballarat community and beyond.
“We will be delivering a permanent presence in Ballarat as soon as possible – to support the delivery of our community programs and our commitment to play two to three games at an AFL standard Eureka Stadium.”
The Victorian Government also pledged $31.5 million for upgrades of Ballarat’s Major Events Precinct – including $15 million for Eureka Stadium.
