AEG Ogden announces new Allphones Arena General Manager
Internationally respected venue manager, Guy Ngata has been appointed the new General Manager at Allphones Arena in Sydney.
Ngata's appointment was announced today (Wednesday) AEG Ogden Chairman and Chief Executive Harvey Lister - AEG Ogden manages Allphones Arena on behalf of the Nine Entertainment Company.
Ngata is currently General Manager of AEG-OPG Culture and Sports Company managed Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai, China, a role he has occupied for the past two and half years. In that time, Ngata presided over the venue opening in 2011.
Before his appointment in China, Ngata was the Director of Operations and then Chief Executive of Auckland's Vector Arena having previously held roles with both the Auckland Rugby Union Football Union and Auckland Trusts Stadium.
Lister was delighted with the appointment of Ngata stating "Guy is an outstanding venue manager and well respected throughout the industry globally. We are very fortunate to have him coming on board to manage one of the finest arenas in the nation and I'm confident of him building on its success.
"Guy is a great fit for the venue and the team."
Ngata is excited by his new role, adding "I leave the Mercedes-Benz Arena after a tremendous time there but relish the opportunity afforded to me by AEG to run this magnificent facility. I am really excited to lead the Allphones Arena team and ensuring the venue remains Sydney's number one entertainment destination."
Allphones Arena is Sydney's premier entertainment venue, hosting the cream of Australia's touring product.
The venue is ranked in the top 10 arenas in the world according to in respected industry publication Pollstar's mid-year rankings and is consistently in Billboard's top five arenas (15,001 to 30,000 capacity category).
Ngata will take a short break before commencing his new role in mid-September. He takes over as General Manager at Allphones Arena from Paul Sergeant who has accepted the role of Chief Executive at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne.
