Adelaide Nature Trail Strategy

Linking Adelaide with Nature is a draft Strategy prepared by the South Australian Department for Environment and Heritage (DEH) to help guide future trail management and provision in the State's most visited and populated region.

This Strategy compliments the State-wide DEH Trails Strategy (Linking with Nature 2008-2012) and will support the draft DEH Visitor Strategy. It is also important to assist the delivery of a number of goals of the South Australian Strategic Plan that aim to improve the lives, health and prosperity of South Australians.

The vision for the strategy is to provide for a sustainable and diverse network of trail experiences that attract people to Adelaide's natural areas, reveal our unique qualities and assist to make healthy communities and environments.

A key new direction from the strategy is acknowledging and promoting recreational access as important and necessary for the sustainable future of parks and beneficial to conservation objectives.

DEH values your feedback and welcomes any comments on the draft strategy.
