98 Gym to operate fitness centre at Sydney Swans' new headquarters
The Sydney Swans have announced a partnership with 98 Gym, with the exercise facility to take on the tenancy of the club’s new training and administration based at the Royal Hall of Industries.
Already operating clubs in the Sydney suburbs of Bondi Beach and Darlinghurst, as well as in Melbourne and Brisbane, 98 Gym specialises in purpose-led performance-based training, designed to improve strength, power, speed and general fitness, turning training into an intrinsic part of exerciser’s overall wellbeing.
Advising that the two organisations share a great alignment and coming together under one roof is a natural fit, Sydney Swans Chief Operating Officer, Drew Arthurson commented “one of the great opportunities about Sydney Swans HQ is having aligned partners that can maximise the potential for members, fans and the community more broadly.
“We’re excited to partner with 98 Gym as the organisation’s focus is on whole of body, whole of mind, and maximising the performance of every individual.
With 98 to also offer its digital app, 98 Training, at the site, 98 Gym Director, Chris Feather added “to be recognised by a brand like the Sydney Swans is massive, it’s a great partnership for us both.
“There’s so much crossover, we also want our athletes to be fit across all energy systems, we want them to be strong and injury free.
“The Royal Hall of Industries project is so impressive. We’ve spent 12 years building 98, and to now be mixing with professional athletes and a professional sports team at the top of their game is really big for us.”
The first stage of the new Sydney Swans HQ is due for completion in November this year.
