2024 Tasmanian Karting Championships underway

Kart racers from across Australia are competing this weekend at the 2024 Tasmanian Karting Championships with around 130 competitors across 10 classes battling it out at the Archerville Raceway for a prestigious blue plate.

The Tasmanian Karting Championships is presented by Karting Tasmania in conjunction with the Launceston Kart Club and runs from 22nd to 24th November 2024.

Tasmanian Minister for Sports and Events, Nick Duigan, said the Tasmanian Government is committed to ensuring more Tasmanians can participate in sport and active recreation activities and has supported the Launceston Kart Club with $219,685 towards upgrades at the club’s facility through the 2023-24 Tasmanian Active Infrastructure Grants Program.

Minister Duigan added “The Tasmanian Karting Championships is a drawcard for both competitors and spectators alike, and it’s important we continue to support this popular motorsport.

“These much-needed works have made safety compliance improvements for the racetrack and its surrounds, allowing the club members and other visitors to enjoy the facilities to their full potential.”

The 2023-24 Tasmanian Active Infrastructure Grants Program supported the sport and active recreation sector to develop new infrastructure and upgrade existing infrastructure to maximise opportunities for lifelong participation in sport and active recreation.
