2014 New Zealand Fitness Industry Awards Finalists announced
A record-breaking number of entrants have ensured the 2014 New Zealand Fitness Industry Awards are the most competitive to date.
With the full list of finalists just announced, feedback from the judging panel has said that they calibre of entrants has made this year a very competitive year.
Commenting on the Awards, Exercise Association of New Zealand (ExerciseNZ) Chief Executive Richard Beddie explains "the 2014 finalists represent the truly excellent contributions to health and fitness within the industry."
The 2014 Awards have 14 categories, looking at both individuals and facilities that operate in the fitness/exercise industry, as well as special awards for those outside the industry showing a commitment to health and wellness through exercise.
With the exception of three awards, all awards are based on an application process that is reviewed by a judging panel.
With finalists now announced, the winners will be presented with their awards at a special ExerciseNZ awards event on 22nd November.
This year also introduces a Live Assessment in front of an international judging panel that will be held at AUT on the North Shore of Auckland on Friday 21st November.
Entrants of five of the awards categories (Personal Trainer, Up and Coming Personal Trainer, Gym Instructor, Small Group Trainer and Student of the Year) will be put through their paces to determine the overall winner of their category, which will be announced at the Awards Ceremony the following evening.
The award ceremony’s MC is fitness and media personality Suzie Clarkson.
The award ceremony has proven to be an extremely prestigious event with past guest speakers having included New Zealand Prime Minister John Key, Govenrment Ministers Rodney Hide and Murray McCully and author and politician Sue Kedgeley.
