2009 NSW Fitness Industry Award Winners

Fitness Australia have named the high achieving individuals and businesses in their 2009 NSW Fitness Industry Awards.

The winners are:

2009 NSW Small Fitness Business of the Year
Katoomba Sports & Aquatic Centre

The Katoomba Sports and Aquatic Centre (KSAC) is leading the way in managing a modern fitness business by expanding and diversifying the range of fitness opportunities and services that are available to the Blue Mountains community. Recently this has included the installation of a three story indoor children's play structure on the third basketball court within KSAC. This facility provides children from 2 years to 12 a venue where they can run, climb, jump, hop, slide and crawl for hours in a safe and supervised environment. The Katoomba Sports and Aquatic Centre (KSAC) is leading the way in innovation by continually diversifying and expanding the services and the facilities that it provides to the upper Blue Mountains community.

2009 NSW Medium Fitness Business of the Year
Ripples Leisure Centre

Ripples prides itself on leading the way in managing a modern fitness business, and yet, Ripples has been operational for over fifteen years. Ripples delivers great quality programs and makes the average person feel welcome and comfortable by taking into account the demographics of their local community when implementing program or marketing activities.

2009 NSW Large Fitness Business of the Year
Mingara One Fitness Aquatic Wellness

Mingara One is also leading the way in managing a modern fitness business through its provision of state-of-the-art equipment and the latest in fitness technology. Mingara One has been visionary in diversifying its offering to include Mingara One Wellness. The Wellness component of their product sits alongside Fitness and incorporates health related services including physiotherapy, natural therapies and sports medicine practice; a beautician; a café; a hairdresser; and a health food store. The additional services offered in Mingara One Wellness have taken the traditional fitness centre model to a new level as they differentiate Mingara One as a complete health, fitness and wellness solution.

2009 NSW Exercise Professional of the Year
Christine Atkins

Through a combination of commitment to positive health outcomes, ongoing training and an extensive career in corporate and community fitness programs, Christine has built a reputation for quality service among her customers. Her exemplary leadership skills, integrity, excellent rapport and extensive training have been a winning combination for Christine this year.

2009 NSW Personal Training Business of the Year
Harbourside Health & Fitness

Harbourside is leading the way by offering both studio based and mobile trainers who are no longer just personal trainers, but a TEAM of passionate, specialist health & fitness professionals. Harbourside's passion has shone through this year and they are the 2009 Personal Training Business of the Year for 2009.
