YMCA Broken Hill Integrated Wellness Centre opens
Advising that it will offer “a little more than just a gym or leisure centre” for the local community, the YMCA Broken Hill Integrated Wellness Centre has been opened.
Developed with the local community over a five-year period, the $5.4 million facility offers a range of fitness and sport facilities and classes.
Support came from the Federal and NSW Governments, Broken Hill City Council and Marri Ma Aboriginal Health.
One feature of the development is that facility’s original YMCA stained glass windows, believed to be over 60 years old, have been retained as a prominent feature of the centre
YMCA Broken Hill currently provides services to over 2,500 local residents, runs swimming lessons for over 450 children and employs more than 50 staff.
