WSG appoints Sarah Clements as Director of Operations, WTA Championships Singapore

The World Sport Group has announced the appointment of Sarah Clements as Director of Operations for the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) Championships Singapore.

A 20-year veteran in the operations of major international tennis and entertainment events, Clements will lead the management and delivery of the WTA Championships in Singapore for World Sport Group (WSG), which will be held from 2014 onwards at the soon-to-be-opened Singapore Sports Hub.

In her new role Clements will represent WSG in the overall planning and implementation of the WTA Championships. This will also include a series of exhibition matches, fan fests, concerts and Women in Business Conference working closely with internal and external stakeholders including the WTA, Singapore Tourism Board, Singapore Sports Council and Sports Hub.

Announcing the appointment WSG President, ASEAN & Australia, Mark Hardess stated "I am excited about Sarah joining our team. Her experience is impressive and includes managing several Australian Open events and other Tennis Australia events.

"She will no doubt help us to deliver a successful WTA Championships here in Singapore next year and beyond."

Clements will be based in WSG's Singapore offices. She was previously General Manager, Operations of the Australian Open and Tennis Australia respectively. More recently, Clements led industry relations and business operations for the Melbourne Fashion Festival.

The WTA is the official home of women's professional tennis.
