World’s third highest observatory opens in Seoul
Seoul Sky, the world’s third highest observatory, has opened in the Korean capital of Seoul.
The already popular attraction is located on the upper floors (117-123) of Seoul’s new and now tallest building, Lotte World Tower.
Designed with the concept of ‘The Beauty and Pride of Korea’, Seoul Sky broke three Guinness World Records before it’s opening,
The sky deck on the 118th Floor is the ‘world’s highest glass-floored observation deck’, the Sky Shuttle elevator has been recorded as both the fastest double-deck elevator (with a speed of 500 metres per minute) and the elevator covers the greatest vertical distance of any elevator in the world.
Located in Songpa-gu in the southern suburbs of Seoul, visitors can board the elevator to Seoul Sky from the lobby levels on B1 and B2 of the Lotte World Tower.
Seoul Sky provides a complete view of the entire city through the glass walls on all sides. On clear days, visitors will be able to see as far as Songdo, Incheon and the Yellow Sea.
A general admission ticket to Seoul Sky costs 27,000 Korean won (US$24) and children 24,000 Korean won (US$21).
Operating hours for the Seoul Sky Observatory are 9.30am to 11pm daily.
