WorkSafe Queensland investigating accident at Brisbane skydiving venue
WorkSafe Queensland is investigating an accident at an iFly Indoor Skydiving facility situated at Westfield Chermside, 10km north of the Brisbane CBD, in which a Queensland woman suffered a traumatic head injury and remains in a critical condition.
Paramedics rushed to the venue last Thursday following reports of a head injury. The woman was quickly transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a critical condition.
Workplace Health and Safety Queensland inspectors have visited the site and are continuing to make further inquiries into the incident.
iFly have five locations across Australia in Brisbane, Gold Coast, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney along with over 80 locations worldwide.
Their website states that “safety is the most important part of a great flight experience. So when you fly, we'll be right by your side guiding your movement. All our instructors have trained long and hard to make sure you fly safe and have the time of your life.”
Police have said investigations into circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.
