Work begins on 250 hectare Resorts World Jeju casino development

A ground-breaking ceremony was held on Thursday (12th February) for Resorts World™ Jeju in South Korea, the latest integrated resort development in the Asia-Pacific region.

The US$1.8 billion project is jointly developed by Hong Kong-listed Landing International Development and Malaysia’s Genting Group, operator of Resorts World Sentosa in Singapore and the Genting Highland Resort in Malaysia.

While the resort’s premium hotels will have more than 2,000 rooms, boasting luxury villas, Jeju Island’s first 6-star hotel and a destination spa. The hotels are equipped with full meeting and conference facilities that are suitable for hosting regional and international meetings, incentives, conventions and events (MICE).

Expected to open in 2017, the integrated resort will feature a range of and entertainment amenities, as well as approximately 1,500 luxury serviced apartments and residential villas.

The entire development is expected to be completed by 2019.
