Winter Skate Festival and Ice Age come to Melbourne's Medibank Icehouse

Melbourne's Medibank Icehouse is staging two special events through the Victorian school holidays.

The largest ice skating venue in Australia is hosting its Winter Skate Festival and School Holiday program that includes:

• A family happy hour - every Saturday and Sunday from 2nd June between 12 and 1pm there will be a dedicated family rink, free beginner lessons and skate aids provided free of charge;
• Twitter Time all entry, including standard skate hire for $17 after 7pm from Wednesday to Sunday and everyday of the school holidays;
• Themed evenings this includes a Skate Date night on Thursdays, Hot 40 on Fridays and an Ice Disco on Saturdays.

Free Beginner lessons will run from Tuesday to Sunday night at 7pm, as well as four times each day on weekends in addition to the family happy hour. Four free lessons daily during the school holidays.

Between Saturday 30th June and Sunday 15th July the school holiday program will also include additional free lessons and a twice daily performance of 'Ice Age @ Icehouse' an ice show performance by a troupe of eight figure skaters and linked to the upcoming cinema release of 'Ice Age 4: Continental Drift'.

Visitors to Medibank Icehouse will also be able to meet the characters from the performance and have their photos taken.

Located on Footscray Road in Melbourne's Docklands, the Medibank Icehouse is managed by Grollo Leisure and Tourism.

Medibank Icehouse has also recently engaged Melbourne-based retail consultants Merchantwise to conduct a strategic review and identify opportunities to improve customer visitation and revenue yields.
