Willowbank Raceway appoints new Chief Executive
One of the leading administrators of drag racing in Australia, Peter Beaumont, has been appointed Chief Executive of the Willowbank Raceway.
Located 50 kilometres south west of Brisbane, Willowbank Raceway is home to the Winternationals, the largest drag racing event on the Australian calendar.
Commenting on his new role, Beaumont, who previously served as General Manager of Sydney Dragway until February 2021, stated “this is an enormous and exciting opportunity.
“Willowbank Raceway is the true home of Drag Racing in Australia. I’m looking forward to working with the team and the Board in developing and implementing plans to grow the venue, attract new events, expand our sponsorship base and alternative business hires.”
Welcoming Beaumont (pictured) to his new role, Willowbank Raceway President, Tony Wedlock advised “Peter worked with us as a contractor in the lead up to the Winternationals.
"During that time, he worked with our staff, volunteers and racers as well as the Raceway Board and based on the feedback we received, it became an easy decision for us that we should look to make Peter a more permanent fixture at the venue.
“We know Peter is bringing a wealth of all-around experience to our venue and we look forward to working with Peter."
