Wildlife Tourism Conference Cancelled
The third Australian Wildlife Tourism Conference, due to have been held next week, has been cancelled.
The Wildlife Tourism Australia (WTA) event was due to have been held from 1st to 3rd September at co-host the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary on the Gold Coast.
According to WTA Chair Pip Chalk "this unfortunate situation has resulted from an inadequate number of required submissions and registrations in order to efficiently conduct the conference. Perhaps in these hard financial times the tourism industry, and perhaps us all, have found ourselves in unprecedented hardship.
"Perhaps the most unfortunate result is that we as a group of dedicated wildlife tourism professionals will be unable to share in each otherâs work and continue to build those professional relationships required for the ongoing support and development of the wildlife tourism industry in Australia."
Chalk added that for delegates already registered their registrations will be repaid in full.
