West HQ’s Sydney Coliseum Theatre secures Australian premiere of Madagascar - The Musical

West HQ’s Sydney Coliseum Theatre will be hosting the Australian premiere of Madagascar - The Musical, bringing to life the classic DreamWorks animated movie in Rooty Hill’s 2000 seat theatre this December.

The NSW Government through its tourism and major events agency Destination NSW has secured the Australian premiere of the international touring production, which has already performed to sold-out audiences across the UK and New Zealand.

NSW Minister for Tourism and Western Sydney Stuart Ayres said securing the nation’s premiere season of Madagascar - The Musical was a treat for Sydney audiences and a major coup for the Western Sydney visitor economy.

Minister Ayres enthused “I am delighted the Australian premiere of Madagascar - The Musical will be brought to life at the spectacular, state-of-the-art Sydney Coliseum Theatre.

“This is a world-class production in a world-class Western Sydney venue with spectacular and colourful sets, masterful puppetry, action-packed adventure and delightful new songs that will inspire audiences to ‘move it move it’ in the aisles.

“Western Sydney is going through a renaissance, building a reputation as a dynamic hub for the arts, culture and creative industries, as well as a destination for hosting major international cultural events.

“In addition to other ground-breaking cultural events secured by the NSW Government for Western Sydney this year, such as HallyuPopFest and SoundWest, Madagascar - The Musical will be a major drawcard for the city providing a significant boost for the Western Sydney visitor economy.

The Australian premiere of Madagascar - The Musical is performing for a limited season at the Sydney Coliseum Theatre from 16th to 31st December 2022.
