Water Safety Awards to Celebrate Outstanding Achievements

New Zealand's annual Water Safety Awards will be presented at a ceremony at Te Papa in Wellington on Wednesday (1st December).
As Water Safety New Zealand (WSNZ) General Manager Matt Claridge explains â(our) Awards recognise excellence, achievement and innovation in water safety, and offer an opportunity for organisations and individuals involved in water safety to showcase their successes.?
Established to promote a culture of excellence in the water safety sector, the Awards support the New Zealand Water Safety Framework and help WSNZ and its member organisations to achieve this by identifying and highlighting initiatives working well.
Awards will be given in three categories: Education, Awareness and Prevention. There is also an Outstanding Contribution Award which is presented to recognise those who have made a positive difference in the water safety sector.
In addition to the four annual Awards, WSNZ will this year be introducing a âMedia Partner Awardâ.
Claridge continues, âwe have had some fantastic support from media partners in recent years who recognise the importance of water safety as an issue for all New Zealand communities and we think it is appropriate to acknowledge this support.?
The New Zealand Water Safety Awards will be held on Wednesday 1st December from 12.30pm to 2pm.
