Water Management in Aquatic Centres: Best Practice Guidelines
Sydney Water, in consultation with the NSW Aquatic and Recreation institute, the Australian Leisure Facilities Association and the NSW Department of Health, has developed a series of best practice guidelines for water management in aquatic centres.
The document is aimed at aquatic centre managers and operators and local government sustainability and facilities staff and will help aquatic centres benchmark their water use and better manage their water, wastewater and energy.
The guidelines were developed based on technical information, benchmarking exercises and management assessments gathered by Sydney Water's Business Customer Services (formerly the Every Drop Counts Business Program). A panel of aquatic centre managers, industry experts and government representatives have been major drivers in developing these guidelines.
The guidelines are being launched at an event on Tuesday 24th May.
Sydney aquatic centre managers who would like to attend this free event should contact Sara Raishbrook, Sustainability Officer, Sydney Water Business Customer Services on 02 8849 4758, E: sara.raishbrook@sydneywater.com.au
