Village Roadshow takes majority stake in Las Vegas waterpark
Theme park operator and movie distributor Village Roadshow has taken a majority stake in a Las Vegas, USA waterpark currently under construction.
With an investment of $US12 million Village has taken a 51% stake in the park, which will be given the Wet'n'Wild brand. The other 49% interest in the project is held by a group of prominent investors, including former tennis stars Andre Agassi and Steffi Graff.
The $US32 million ($31.39 million) waterpark is set on 41 acres in southwest Las Vegas, and will feature 25 slides and has the potential to entertain more than 650,000 visitors a year.
Village Roadshow currently operaters Wet'n'Wild Water World on the Gold Coast and recently commenced the construction of Wet'n'Wild Sydney.
